Statement of intent

For my NEA piece, I am going to work independently on Brief 4: music video and online to produce a three-minute music video for a fictional dance/artist signed to Universal Music and the working website for the band/artist. My production will be aimed at a culturally sophisticated, 16-25 class AB demographic. I am going to promote the fictional artist 'Reign' through the use of a quirky video, through the portrayal of a girl who represents my artist as the main singer along with two other fictional artists who will be featured in the video. They will be rolling in and out of shot whilst lip syncing different verses of the song, whilst the lighting alternates from red to white with the beat. The premise of the video is to create a unique and new type of music video, straying away from stereotypical narratives that are usually featured in music videos. Using an editing app I will be able to turn one of my pictures into a video that is representative of my artist's style and the theme of my video.
